What to Wear in Las Vegas

If you're a first time visitor to the Sin City, choosing what to wear in Las Vegas can seem overwhelming. Suffice it to say, if you're worried about this topic, chances are your concerns are overblown. Knowing what to wear in Las Vegas is mostly common sense. But rest assured, regardless of your decision on what to wear in Las Vegas, you'll find a place to hang out that matches your style.

Lets start with the casinos. While it may seem counter to the town's old school image, it doesn't matter what you wear in Las Vegas - whether you're hanging out at the classiest Casino on the Strip (the Wynn or Bellagio), or a local's "only" hole in the wall downtown - what to wear in Las Vegas is all about what makes you feel at ease. On the casino floor, you'll see everything from the short/t-shirt/sandals look, to full out suits and ties. And somewhere between those extremes, you'll find the full gambit, from jeans to wife beaters. The days of everyone wearing their Sunday best and sipping martinis have long since past. Again, what to wear in Las Vegas comes down to you're comfortable in.

Now all that said, when choosing what to wear in Las Vegas, be sure to consider your night plans - while there's essentially all the flexibility in the world during the day, it is important to give your attire a bit more consideration at night. Unless you're friendly with the bouncers at some of the better clubs in town, its crucial that you conform to the mandated dress code. I've yet to see anyone run into trouble wearing a collared shirt, quality jeans, and leather shoes. Some clubs will allow designer t-shirts in-lieu of collared shirts (Pure for example), but just about every club is extremely strict on shoes. It doesn't matter if you're sporting a 0 pair of designer jeans, and a 0 shirt - if you're wearing sneakers (or shoes with white soles), you put your admission at jeopardy. Choosing what to wear in Las Vegas isn't hard - but it does require some planning.

What to Wear in Las Vegas

Outside of that cautionary note, again, I would summarize it all by saying that what to wear in Las Vegas comes down to whatever you feel like wearing. More so than just about any other city, if you feel comfortable sporting it, then give it a go. Trust me - no one will say a word.
